The Missing Diagnosis, first published in 1983, is a book about the human illness caused by the yeast “Candida albicans.” It covers the first twenty-two years of Dr. Truss’ interest in the varied clinical symptoms that may be associated with allergic toxic responses to products of Candida albicans, as well as the more familiar ones originating at the sites of yeast growth in the body.

Dr. Truss was a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and of Cornell University Medical College. His post-graduate training was on the Cornell Division of Bellevue Hospital in New York City, where he completed successive years as Intern, Assistant Resident, and Chief Resident in internal medicine...
